A very wet August

The bean poles in August.
The bean poles in August.

It rained on most days this month. The beans split on the plants and a few pods rotted before I could pick them. The peppers did not mind at all and are still flowering.

The low corner of the plot stood in water for two days, so I dug a shallow trench along that side to lead it into the ditch. Not pretty, but the ground dried out within a day after the next storm.

Note to self: the low corner is for things that like it wet, or for nothing.
